About

Zion Lutheran Church is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  We have been worshiping in Kewanee for 149 years, and celebrated our 150th Anniversary on Sunday, December 8th, 2019.

We have been worshiping in our current location on East Street South for 60 years - the building was constructed in 1958.  In December of 2018 we celebrated our 60th anniversary with trivia and donuts.

CHancel Choir

The Chancel Choir provides beautiful music to our worship services and lives most Sundays of the year, they sing during the offering, and on other special occasions.  The choir performs on the 1st, 3rd, 4th & 5th Sundays of the month from September - May.  If you are interested in joining please speak with Sue Sagmoen - our music director, we would love to have you!

Youth Bell choir

The youth bell choir is directed by Gayle Burhorn, and is open for youth interested in learning music, and performing before God on the 2nd Sunday of the month during the offering, and sometimes at the begining or end of the service.  The bell choir meets Sunday mornings at 8:30am, before Sunday school.  They have a wide variety of music that is played with youth grades 3-12!
